We know a lot of you have been trying every trick in the book to be that healthy, macho guy all chicks drool over for. But instead of merely investing in your physical health, why not in your mental health too? A recent survey on mental health stated that mental illness is second only to cardiovascular diseases as a cause of lost years of a healthy life. So here are some things you can do to keep the brain on track.
Be communicative. Express your feelings in non-threatening, non-combative way to significant people in your life. Don’t wait for the pressure to build and then blow your top. Catch anger before it consumes you. You don’t wanna end up mooning everyone, including your crush, at the office when things get out hard.
Find time for yourself, alone, everyday and meditate. For one, you can transform cleaning your toilet to Zen-like experience. We found nirvana midway through brushing the pipes under the sink.
Don’t try and keep up with the joneses. Seeking material things is alright unless it becomes an obsession. Besides, you that money can’t buy happiness. Unless you definition of happiness is a Bentley GT, then let’s go over the plan for a heist all over again, some place, some time.
Build a network of trusted friends- and that doesn’t include your Heidi Klum pin-up.
Avoid unhealthy relationships and make you feel blue or inadequate. No matter what the price, get out of this situation and it’ll take a load of stress off of you.
Do some physical activity every day, whether it’s washing the car, walking or working out. Anything that will make you excrete those endorphins is good to keep that smile on you, buddy.
Share life with someone you love. Yes, we all need a little lovin’ let’s just put it that way.
Be true to yourself. We know it’s a bit cliché, but it works wonders. Even if you ask the ladies, they’ll tell you that they don’t want some guy trying to be someone he’s not.
Just keep in mind, investing physical health is not just good enough.
